Skip Beat! follows Kyoko's journey up climb the showbiz ladder as she meets interesting people, troublemakers and friends alike, with hopes of getting revenge on Shotaro, as well as regaining the sense of compassion that she had lost when her heart was broken by him. Along the way she meets Ren Tsuruga, who disapproves of Kyoko and her motives. As Kyoko cultivates her acting and friendships, she soon discovers a sense of self separate from her initial plans for revenge.
This show made me laugh my butt off. Kyoko is one interesting character I certainly don't want to mess with. The opening is catchy. At first I couldn't stand it, and then I when I progressed through the anime, it grew on me ^~^
The animation style isn't my favorite. When the men are drawn with long thin faces, it doesn't do it for me. When I started to watch it and I saw Sho's face I could barely take it >.< I sucked it up cause my sister's friend really wanted me to watch it so I did it for her and I soooo glad I did ^_^ The animation grew on me too and now I'm a Tsuruga fan-girl :3 When he's in chibi mode, I die of the kawaiiness X3
The love story in this anime will drive you through the roof, imma just put that out there right now. If you're ready for a cliff hanger then go right ahead and watch it. If you read manga, I suggest you read where the anime left off cause you won't be satisfied. I haven't gotten around to it because I'm currently reading Attack on Titan and that on is too intense to put down.
Overall, great great anime, with hate for the ending because of the cliff hanger. I would so recommend to anybody even though it's a shōjo anime/manga. It has it's comedy and with a girl like Kyoko, trust me!!, you will not get bored.
That's all I have to say about this one. 8/10 rating. I will read the manga sooner or later and review that one. I believe it's still ongoing so it might be a while ^_^
So until the next review, Sm;)e!
